Re: 2000 Maxima not starting after starter install
To run, engine wants:
1. gas/injection,
2. spark,
3. some pressurized air (cranking etc).
4. all 1-3 properly timed by ECU & mechanics
One of the 1-4 is missin... which one?
First Aid Diag:
1a. fuel pump sound and stiffenin fuel hose means pressure is there, gas will be stinkin around if nostart cranking goes on... 1b. injectors do click when control signals from ECU do 'arrive' (listen, screwdriver on injector, ear on handle - precondition: crank sensor has to rotate, ECU be 'alive')
2. plugs do spark when spark is present: add a spare grounded plug on coil pulled up - take a peek while cranking
3. Tst the air 'travel': plastic bag will be puffed up while cranking (=timing is ok) when placed on exhaust pipe end. If it is sucked, cam chains have jumped (very rare).
4. This needs some tools...
I'd first try to look around for cut/missing/disconnected/loose wirings/groundings/vacuum hoses.
