72 Chevy C10 350 stalling problem
Today I was on the way home from lunch when my 72 350 small block sputtered and died.
The back of my truck looks like it has some kind of fluid sprayed on it that's been leaking so I looked under the hook and the last 2 plug wires on the passenger side are sticky with oil residue it looks like.
I unscrewed the last plug and it wasn't caked with oil or anything so I cleaned it, screwed it back in, tightened it, put the wire back on and my truck fired up just fine, idled for about 2 minutes, then died and won't start now. I can get the truck to fire up if I crank it and keep the gas pressed all the way down until it starts but it stalls and dies when idling or under a small load. Anyone have any ideas of what they think is wrong with it?
It's sitting in a parking lot cooling off so I can check all the plugs because passenger side head gaskets have a slight leak so it burns a little oil and requires cleaning. I'm hoping that I just didnt clean the plugs in time and thats all it takes but I was wanting to see if anyone else has any advice on what they think it could be granted that I know for a fact its something on the passenger side.
