Re: "W.I.P" Tamiya Benetton B192 1/20th

Just a quick update.Progress is a little slow as I've been suffering the flu all week and not felt like doing much at all.The wing modification has turned out ok.It just need a little more filling and smoothing before a coat of primer will be sprayed. The slotted holes where the wing supports fit need a little refining with sandpapers and a file and it will be fine.

The backside of this part is littered with ejector pin marks so these need filling.

The front nose section where it had bubbled did not sand out too well. The Finishers yellow didn't want to cover either,so I've stripped the part in question and re-primed it which has fixed the flaws it had.I've decided to change paint and asked Steve at 'Hiroboy' to mix me some Zero yellow basecoat instead of using the Finishers stuff. The Zero basecoat should cover a lot better.

I've added the bottom of the monocoque to the tub.I should have left the seat out till last though as it's going to complicate the masking a little, but I should manage. The headrest area came out nice in the end after a few sessions filling and smoothing.

The bottom part was fixed and is now in the process of filling to eliminate the join.

I also marked the masking line with a row of small pin pricks to use as a guide as they will inevitably get lost whilst the sanding operations are carried out. They should disappear under the final coats of paint. They are just visible in the photo outlined by the black squares.
