2003 Sierra 6.0 Low Coolant Level

While driving today, the "message center" on my dash said, low coolant level. Called dealer, they suggested, "look for a leak".

So, when I got home, I let everything sit for a couple hours and took a look. Truck was still a little warm, but there was plenty of coolant in the overflow.

I couldn't find a leaking coolant anywhere, but I did find that the transmission cooler hoses were both leaking. Not spewing out, but they were wet with fluid.

I have two questions.

First, could the low coolant level be somehow related to the leaking hoses? Could coolant even leak through these hoses?

Second, since the hoses need to be replaced anyway, is there an aftermarket kit for maybe stainless hoses? The dealer wants $200 or so to do it.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it...
