Moving on over to the Vortex, huh? That is a great forum. It's probably the biggest reason I stay with VW. You can get any question answered quickly there.
I got to take a new Jetta down to the beach when my wife's Cabrio was in the shop, shortly after they came out. I loved the 5 cylinder's power. My Jetta is only a 4 cylinder and produces 105 hp, so it seems really slow in comparison.
My first Jetta was an '89; a second generation with the 1.8L 4 cylinder, and it was the dark gray you were looking for. That car was hit 5 times standing still (parked or rear ended), and I blame it on the color blending into the asphalt! Glad you got something different. Good luck with it!
