I have the same question too, I have gone through all my reference pictures and cannot find any pictures with the battery in the engine bay, all my ones show the battery in the cockpit, there is very little room in the engine bay too and I cannot imagine where it would be located, also in the film Lemans the battery is in the cockpit too - if you can help that would be great.
