Re: 01 park right front strut noise,
Well more updates. In cold weather, no noise at all. In warmer weather very slight noise. At this point I am going to live with it, as you can barely hear it. Strut plate OEM did take care of most noise, strut plate was 150.00 at dealer. The bushing 22181835 is 15.00. I am not putting the the bushing part in at this time. The monroe strut/mounting kit package aftermarket....verses oem is the oem plate with the three mounting bolts, the bolt holes?? are shorter on the oem and longer on the aftermarket. Which on aftermarket causes the bearing to ride on the aftermarket bolt holes. The oem holes are appox 1/8th inch shorter then providing enough clearance for the bearing and the assembly to turn freely. Maybe at a later date I will install 2218135. The noise is now not very loud and you really need to listen for the noise as it happens only as you start rolling or coming to a stop. So my therory is this....OEM strut plates, after market struts, bearings and related material, you can use aftermarket and then at that point I would install the 22181835 part on both sides. Just a fyi the drivers side did not make any noise at all through this whole process, along with all the aftermarket parts with no rubbing on that side. I do not understand it fully but....I hope this helps someone in their quest to save some money and some aggravation.
