I'm considering making a custom air intake for my civic, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I personally don't understand the whole cone shaped filter, and I'm worried about the placement if I were to install one. I was thinking of keeping my original box, but putting in a K&N, and widening the tubes running in and out of it. Does anyone think this is a good idea, or should I just put a cone filter on it? If I go with a cone, where is the most effective place to put it (I was thinking of dropping in down in the area next to the battery if there's room, I haven't really poked around yet)?
