After a little communication with Bill on the subject i came to light that, because this is an SMS/LMM resin kit, there are going to be alot of goodies. Even though the kit is curbside it is probably going to include Templated CF decals. Full PE set to detail the build. Now lets say we buy the revell kit for $25. Then we buy the CF $20. Then we buy the PE set, another $18. Some up graded brakes $15. Wire, plumbing and seat belts, another $20 or so. Were looking to spend some $98 plus or minus to build a well detailed Revell R-10. That doesnt get into the time fixing the ride height, opening the vents, dremeling of the molded in seatbelts and generally correcting the usual Revell short comings. Im starting to think $150 isnt so bad of a price for and acurate replica. Especially when i can spend $25 for the Revell kit and add an engine the SMS. Not to mention, how long is it going to take for all this detail PE and CF to come onto the market for the Revell? Months if not a year to build an accurate reblica out of the Revell. It really depends how you look at it. Ive spent alot of money on resin kits and i assure ive easy spent $150 on a resin kit that was a box full of parts that dont fit, maybe 10 PE pieces and no CF decals. Knowing the quality of SMS, $150 starts looking even better for this must build desiel monster. Yes i will probably build the Revell OOB, but i will have alot more fun super detailing the SMS kit! Thats just me.
