Another what should I do thread
Here's my situation:
My S2000 has been in storage since October 1, 2006. That's almost 6 months! I'm thinking I'm going to keep it stored until I finish school (last week of April) so I can concentrate on school. Things to do: Oil change, diff fluid change, bleed brakes, paint calipers, alignment. Currently owe $4200 on the car.
My Civic has been on jackstands for the past week. Last Saturday night I took off the wheel hub to change the wheel bearing and I was going to change some bushing at the same time. I have not had any time to finish up the car. The car has 197,000 miles and needs the following done: new shocks all the way around (4 shocks have 4 different rebound rates, and it's actually quite scary going over bumps and potholes on the road at 70-80 mph), timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment and replace some gaskets.
My school finishes on May 3rd. On May 14th I'm starting a new job 4-5 hours away. I can only take one of my cars there. I will probably have garage space if I take my S2000. The office is only 6 miles away from where I'll be staying and the company has its own parking garage where I can park for free. In fact, I don't even have to commute, I have the option of carpooling.
My most important goal is to pay off the S2000 before July, because in July I have to pay for my tuition for the upcoming school year. Also, I'm planning on keeping both cars for years to come.
Here are the things which I need to decide:
Should I fix all those things that are wrong with my Civic (cost is $300)?
When should I take the S2000 out of storage (maintainance cost is $200)?
Should I pay off the S2000 completely before I start driving it?
Which car do I take with me for the summer (kind of obvoius :d )?
Just looking at what others would do in my situation. My biggest problem is time. I just don't have time for anything besides school and work it seems like.
