The part of the Delco system that makes sense is the serperate coils from a cost standpoint.
I however had the Magnovox system on my 87 PA. The whole thing, contorl module and coil pack was baked when I bought the car, the previous owner blew the headgaskets and continued to drive it, overheating it escessively..
I regard the complaints of the " 'vow" system to be the same as the dreaded ignition module failures of the GM HEI distributer ignition setup, all a result of too much heat.
I kept my 87 in good tune and never over heated once in the near 7 years of service and never had any problems.
