Like so:
If it was truely Infared it'd look a lot like this:
That guy is an idiot.
Anywho, what we're seeing in the video is light sources and reflected light, much like how we see normally. But as you know, "night vision" is just enhancing what is already there. Thus, what we see in the Supra video coming out of the exhaust might be a light source, such as a flame. I find it interesting that it's there under load. Most of the time when a car spouts flame it's from unburnt fuel that is squirted out that quick bit when the throttle is closed and the excess is shot out the back and ignited from heat (i.e fireballs). Maybe his car was running really really rich and was burning a little unused fuel as he drove... I'm not sure how to explain that. First time I've seen that in a 'night' video.
I could be wrong though!... but what I do know is true is that we're not seeing any form of heat. The camera is not a thermal detecting device, but a light enhancing device.
Blah.

That is not necessarily true. IR is just a different kind of light, that is not visible to the human eye. Seeing things the way predator does with heat being different colors, is not really IR. We have IR bulbs here and there doesn't need to be any other light than the IR to see with NVGs. If you look at a remote control in a completely closed room with NVGs and push any button on the remote, you will see the IR light in the remote light up. You are tight that the camera is not a thermal, but it very well may have IR.
