this dose not just happen to cavaliers!
what happens is the drum wears and brake shoe dust lays in the drum and when the dust gets damp it causes the shoe to lock up the wheel aggressively. until it drys out.
you have to set the brakes up to stop this. what happen is when the drum wears a lip forum on the outter part of the drum and the dust can not get out.
what i do is grind this lip off and i have no more problem until it builds up again in a year or less.

ps your self adjusters are not working to keep your brake shoes set up..
