I'm with you but remember these contacts are electrical and sometimes just the slightest change in contact affects performance...you put a lot of faith in professional installers if you think they wont miss a good tight long-lasting connection once in a while.
Turn your stereo on and go thru each reachable contact and try to duplicate the condition...as well check the fit of all in-line or in-amp fuses.
