As you noted, the EGR valve is supposed to be closed during idle, or below (((
>est. <))) 1,500 rpms. However, if the EGR valve is stuck open, the issue would exist whenever the engine was slowing, to below 1,500 RPMs -- always. With the resulting sensation of the engine going to stall, when slowing down for a stop, or driving slowly....
