The Playstation 3 doesn't have 9 processors. It has seven cores. Now, dual core processors found in computers is like having two processors on one chip. However, in the Playstation 3 the extra cores don't even have their own cache making them more like co-processors than seperate cores. The new cell processor is a horrible design and is a pain to program for. Developers hate it.
On a side note, I forgot to mention sales figures. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at the latest sales figures and I find it amusing. The 360 has sold 9 million units, granted it has been out over a year. The Wii was in second with just over 2 millions units, it still beat the PS3 even though it was released after. This is where is gets sad, the PS3 had only sold about 800 thousand units.
Pathetic.
