The weight diff in the 1st gen is b/c of the suspension, engine, and interior parts. the engine is slightly heavier b/c of the MPFI manifold that is 2-Piece, vs the carb'd one.. (debateable)
Then you have the suspension, which I know nothing about, but my STD carb'd model is fine, corners on rails with just urethane bushings and stock suspension (and the front ride height at minimum... so it drives on the corners of the tires.. ) but the suspension barely rolls at high speed cornering.
The 2nd Gen CRX is like 40 lbs between the HF and the Si... rear sway bar and mounts.. and that's all it is. (Unless you have power windows, then it's like 10 more.) You can lose that 40 lbs by taking out parts that are "extra" that you'll never use, such as the tow hooks, and stuff like that. But chances are, you'll add a sway bar to your HF... meaning you just gained that weight and maybe more. So just think about it.
