You either have a serious problem with the engine causing the oil pressure to be low or you have an electrical problem causing the pressure reading to be lower than it actually is. An oil light coming on is a serious problem. You will destroy you engine if it loses oil pressure for more than a few seconds. A mechanical oil pressure gauge needs to be hooked up to your engine to determine whether or not the oil pressure is low.
