That my friend is a tempting idea. The short is probably more like something short with fat pudgy "little" hands got a hold a damn thing and screwed it up (as usual
). Anytime a camera is left laying around it usually is chucked full of pictures of the floor and the guilty suspects feet.
Batteries last 2 pictures at best, then buh-bye.
