Re: 99 cougar 2.0 won't start
If you have a 12 volt test light hook it up to the coil neg. see if it blinks when you are trying to start the car. They used to have a ground by the computer in the right kick panel which if loose the computer wouldn't start the car.
Three computer grounds left side of engine compartment on fender apron.
Camshaft sensor ground left side of engine on engine mount. This would be easy to miss. Fuel pump lower center rear of luggage compt. Check park/neutral switch top of transacle or clutch pedal switch top of clutch pedal.Pcm power relay left front of vehicle near fog lamp. Under battery tray.
Behind power steering column.
As you only changed the engine the parts should work 99% of the time it is something you missed I've had to go over my work 3 or 4 times hunting something. It is almost a missed ground or something unplugged. Anti freeze is a good insulator and you have to use contact cleaner on some connections.
