If it was the fuel pump, he wouldn't see a problem in fuel economy!
So you should ask the dealership to use the "Nissan Consult" and see if you get the O2 sensor works properly. Could also be a MAF (Mass Air Flow meter)
but the engine would potentialy cut off at 2500rpm.

Always check your Fuel Filter (for the low power, not for the MPG)
