I would just go with what you wanted in the first place. If you start going true dual your going to start loosing low end. I wouldnt do it. The single in dual out is just fine. 2 mufflers would be totaly pointless. just go with a 3 inch in 2.5 inch out or something like that on the muffler. I would leave your cat on. Just buy a New cat. The news ones flow really good, the last one i bought i could see through. It will save you the large ticket you will get if they catch you. 2 mufflers would not be anymore restrictive than 1. I have a set of flowtech headers going into a 3 inch pipe, cat, then it splits off into dual 2.25 inch pipes, with a set of glasspacked tips. Best system i ever had. I had something like that before only it was a 3 inch straight pipe all the way back with a cat only... very loud/annoying and very poor low end.
