Interestingly, ignoring the 8, "GB" comes back as a 1982 Firebird 2.73:1/7.5/non-limited-slip. Looking at the other years online, disregarding the other two digits in front, a "B" at the end seems to denote 2.73:1 ratio, with a middle B (i.e. xBB) meaning limited slip. The K means GM of Canada (all pages were in agreement on this) and the 346 is the Julian date of the year the rear axle was assembled (December 12). Now if this is a 2.73:1 rear, you gain absolutely nothing by getting it, aside from a potential headache due to it possibly not fitting a B-car (the Monte is a G-car).
