Re: Troubleshooting tips?

Well, I bought this Z from a friend who bought it from an auction in a city about two hours away from where I live. He didn't have time to work on it, so I bought it from him. He said he drove it home from the auction, but it needed new head gaskets, because he thought the gaskets were blown. So he started to rip stuff apart without a manual. The gaskets looked fine, but I believe there are cracks in the exhaust manifolds, so that's probably why he thought exhaust gas was leaking. Everything is now pretty much put together, except for some jimmy rigged breather hoses for the valve covers, but I am ordering the correct hoses from a nissan dealer. It sat for a year I'd say. When we were working on it, we replaced the oil, oil filter, spark plugs and wires, belts, and I think it's about it. I tried turning it over, and the engine rotates, but won't keep turning. My dad said he could hear fuel running from the lines. Does gasoline get old after a year and has no combustion left? Let me know if I left anything out.
