All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2001 740il. First i took it to a dealer because the temperature gauge showed that the car was running slightly hot. Dealer claimed i had a leaky radiator. Dealer replaced it. 3-4 months later car had same symptoms. Now cowardly me takes the car some place else. They claim the car needed a thermostat. They replace thermostat. One day later, car runs hot and leaves me stranded. I take it back to the second place. They said oh we think the overflow box has a slight leak and the fan switch is faulty. They replace both of them. They call me to say, car is no longer running hot BUT the temperature gauge immediately goes to the "hot" zone everytime the car is turned on. This is not something that I had seen prior to them working on the car. They proceed to tell me that if they can't fix the problem, I will have to take it to a dealer. I am bleeding money here especially with a daily rental car. Please coach me through how to handle this and get my car back in one piece.
