yes, the flashers are interchangeable. Yes, any major parts store ought to have them for cheap (2-4 US$)

They are located under the drivers side hush panel (a couple 7mm screws, a couple wingnuts towards the firewall), along the column clipped in towards the top of the dash. They are about the diameter of a quarter, and about an inch tall. Genenrally, they are aluminum but I've seen them with plastic casings too, usually yellow. There will be two flasthers, but I never can remember which is which, but there are only 2 so trial and error is easy.
