Re: Another T-Top rattle!! Can I tighten?

When you flip the t-top switch forward, two little pins about a half an inch long come out of each end of the metal side of the t-top. When you flip the switch the other way they go back in. If you look at the body of the car you can see the holes they go into. Not all t-tops can be adjusted. To see if its adjustable look for the following 2 things;

>the adjustable ones have a round plate surrounding the hole where the pin from the t-top fits into the front and back upper corners of the doorjam. You will see two screws on each one. Loosen the screws back about 1/8 inch. Now you can adjust the top up and down, by rotating the plate clock or counter. You will see the position of the hole move up and down as you rotate each one. Try them one at a time. Adjust one and try it first. Adjust the other only if you have too, and by looking from the side you can tell if it doesnt sit right. If anybody else has seen a different type of adjustment on these post it up cause they are different a little year to year.

nonadjustable ones: Its usually the seals. Over a period of time the seals weaken from being smashed on by a t-top, and natural elements shrinking the rubber. If Thats not it the bodys starting to sag. You can tell the nonadjustable ones because where the adjustable ones have a plate with two screws, instead they have a little hole through the plastic trim and no round plate surrounding the hole where the pin fits.
