This may sound odd but I have something for you to check. I have a 2000 Grand AM GT. I keep hearing a noise in the front of the car. I thought it was my brakes but I heard it even when I wasn't hitting the breaks. Anyhow, I could only hear the noise at low speeds. I checked the breaks but I had plenty of pad left. Since I was still under warranty I took the car into the dealer. You never guess what it was.

Dirt! I didn't believe it at first but now I do. They said dirt gets between the rim and tire (something to do with the wheel/tire combination) and makes the noise. All they did is remove the tire and clean the rim. Noise is gone. I noticed it came back about a month ago but after driving a lot in the rain it dissappeared again.

I hope the solution to your problem is this easy.

Mike
