check the starter wires, fuses, and where they installed the remote wire sometimes the starter wire gets loose, and sometimes the shops that install amps fu@# up and loosed something when they do the installation.
I don't think the amp will draw any power during start-up. to check simply pull the amp fuse and try to star the car.
