If I completely remove the blend door motor, can I still drive the vehicle without harming any of the other components? Will it trigger the 'check engine' light?

I'm disconnecting the battery while doing the work of course - but I'm concerned about operating the vehicle without this thing installed. I don't need to damage or fry anything else of course.
