The airflow doors are controlled by a vacuum motor. Some possible causes for the selector function not to work are:
1. No vacuum to the selector switch.
2. Switch leaks vacuum.
3. Damaged vacuum hoses.
4. Vacuum actuator arm not connected to the door crank.
Check the vacuum lines coming from the engine intake to the distribution block. The line going to the Heater/AC control could have come loose.
If you can't find any leaky vacuum lines pull the unit from the dash and check the vacuum hoses going from the selector switch to the vacuum motor. It takes a special tool to pull the radio assy out. Or you can make one by taking a coat hanger and making 2 half moon sections be pushed in on each side of the radio to reslease the clips.
