I own a 74 Nova (L-48 350), which I couldn't pass up because it only had 14,XXX miles on it when I found it with the original owner. 73 and 74 had the larger crash bumpers and lower factory HP (compared to 68-72) which makes them slightly less desirable, and SHOULD be able to be found at a slightly lower cost.

The top motor for 74 was a 4 barrel 350 which was rated at 185. (10 MORE than 73, and more than any later Nova) It is code L-48 on the build sheet, and will have a "K" in the 5th place of the VIN. Of course if you plan on building your own motor this may not matter to you. All "K" engine Nova's also came standard with front disc brakes, which of course is nice. Nova's with other engines had discs as an option, so some have 4 wheel drums.
