I got a problem

Hey guys, long time since i've been on here. Ok I need your help on something.

I ordered an EG6 steering wheel and thought that the 5th gen would bolt right up to the 4th. Well it appears that the post with the grooves on it is too long on the EG6 wheel and the threads are barely reaching because of it. Another thing is the connection ring for the horn has a greater diameter than the older one.

Is there an easy way to make this work? I was thinking about getting the post on the wheel cut down about 3/8 of an inch and getting an identicle groove cut into it so it would be the same except shorter.

Any suggestions?
