if the leak is on the belt side of the pump the seal can be replaced with the pump in place with a special seal removal/ instalation tool provided that the bushing in the pump is not worn beyond working tolarance. if it is leaking on the side with the pipes it will have to be disasembled for replacement. if the leak is on the belt side of the pump i'd reccomend not driving the vehicle untill the leak is repaired because diesel fuel on the timing belt will lead to belt breakage and fairly expensive engine dammage, if the leak is on the side with the pipes be where of the water hoses in the waterpump area developing leaks, excessive loss of water while driving can lead to head warpage or at the least a blown head gasket (among other possibilities).
