The additive is about $7. If you have 4WD, make sure you do the front as well if you haven't already. Will also need some high temp RTV (they don't make seals) & a torque wrench. Mine is 30 ft/lbs & I also clean the entire assembly with brake cleaner. Takes about an hour.
The rear is easy. Just have to drop your spare tire out of the way. The front is slower because it's not as accessible. Takes a little less less oil & I add the slip diff additive because I was told it doesn't hurt for it to be in there even if it's not required.
Get a $12 Haynes manual at autozone for pretty good instructions.

I did my front diff & transfer case this weekend & I remembed why it was such a pain. Had to use a pump for both because there is no place to put the fluid bottles above filler holes. I have an old pump that is part of an old jug of differential fluid. Used it for the xmission fluid for the xfer case after cleaning out the old diff fluid out by pumping like a 4th of a bottle of xmission fluid through it.
I would look for a gallon jug of the type of diff fluid required for your diffs that has the pump & get a quart replacement to add in that is the exact same brand & viscosity. My 2 diffs took about 4.5 quarts. They used to sell it with the slip differential additive already in there.
To make it really simple for the xfer case, get a pump that works in a standard xmission quart bottle.
You also have to remove the skid plates beneath the rear diff & xfer case on my 1999 5.9 4wd. Not a hard job.
Good luck
