Re: 1994 Gmc Sierra 5.7L Header Question
I just went with the regular Flowtec shorties, they work just fine, though if you live where they salt the roads they wont last long, happily I do not.
Engine compartment temps can really be a problem in a camaro and the like but I have never really had a problem with this on my truck.
I'm chipped as well but I burn my own, equipment cost was about the same as a pre'burned chip but at a dime a chip I can custom burn a chip anytime.
I got all the info on it through the thirdgen website and just applied it to my truck instead of a camaro vett or bird.
I have alot of mod's to my 91 that have made quite the difference but alone each modification brought only a slight gain in performance and mpg.
I My last modifications: tbi and chip seemed to bring the most gains but without the cam, heads, etc, I don't think they would have made as big a difference.
And though I bought the cheaper headers I have to agree with the other posters in that you get what you pay for, I just couldn't afford the more expensive headers at the time and had a cracked manifold, the only reason I still run them after 3 years is they haven't broke yet.
