you can go ahead and buy a transmission filter kit just in case. It will come with a new gasket, and the gasket and filter are about 15-20 bucks together...so not expensive at all, but the OE one should be reusable though, so go with it.

Snug those pan bolts, dont try and tighten them too much, this is aluminum youre dealing with, and you dont want to overtighten them and strip them out.

Dropping the pan is the messiest part, I recommend you start slowly undoing bolts in certain areas to allow the pan to drop in certain parts and do your best to collect what fluid you can, youre going to make a decent mess no matter how you do it.
