I own a Ford Contour 1998. My problem is, is that my Contour will not
shift in to any other gear except reverse. I am to believe that my transmission went out. This all happen driving home and some one was making the same turn that I was but they so happenly decided at the last minute and got scared when they found out it was a huge puddle. I slammed my brakes and hit the puddle with a thud. The car continued to drive until I pulled into the driveway. I went to hit the brakes and the car almost went in to the house(wet brakes I know). As i easied of the brakes the car didn't move forward. I put it in reverse and back up and then drive and it didn't move at all. I tried all the all the other gears and still nothing. So I guess my question is what else would have happened besides the tranny going out?
