You need to replace it. I'd suggest a MOOG "Problem Solver" replacement part, since they have improved bushings and greater bearing area to reduce this wear. A loose idler will introduce some lash in the steering.

It sounds as if you've already had your fill of loose front ends, so I don't need to persuade you to repair it.
