i assume you meant the shop just changed the belt? (as compared to the compressor).

Schecter--> i would inspect the belt first, replace if necessary. while you're down there, inspect the clutch on the compressor. you could spray some wd-40 with the hopes of lubricating a tight joint. i've never heard of people rebuilding/fixing clutches on a/c compressors, but that's not to say its impossible. i think its just easier to simply replace the clutch. but in some circumstances, the clutch can be more expensive than the compressor unit (compressor + clutch) itself. go figure.

i'll do a part/price search for compressor, clutch, entire assembly.

EDIT: nevermind the price search...you can find one used for cheap, and just pull parts off that one.
