If you are a real hard core racer, then i suggest getting one of the older lancers, if you can get your hands on 1. If you are only into the racing scene a little bit and its all about the looks (aka poser) then the evo 7 is a good choice 4 you.
the engine being de-tuned doesn't mean it isn't as good; it means it's been de-tuned (i.e. made slower). you can do something I might like to call re-tuning to get it back up to spec.

I'd also like to see the interview/article you reference where tommi said the evo vii is undrivable; I'd like to see why he says so.

as far as this comment: "If you are only into the racing scene a little bit and its all about the looks (aka poser) then the evo 7 is a good choice 4 you". as far as looks go, the evo vii is the least aggressive-looking evo in a long while. I think someone trying to look like a poser would have an evo iv-vi body kit on a mirage or something like that. I personally think that someone driving an actual evo would not be looked upon as a poser, (unless he acted like vin diesel, but had no wrench time or driving skills). unless, of course, you hang with a bunch of riceboys with bad attitudes, but who really pays attention to their opinions anyway; I try not to.

besides, the evo has been seen to race the same track with the same driver at faster lap times than older evo generations; the entire assertion that the vii is "not as good" needs a little backing up
