I'm the one who wrote that, I think. It was a while ago. Again I suggest looking for it under the passenger side of the dash. While I personally haven't worked on a generation 4 blower motor resistor, they are all usually right near the fan motor itself. As I said before, follow the wiring back from the fan motor itself. The resistor is usually in the blower motor housing itself, as it is cooled by the fan while the fan is running. The newer type of resister may not look like pen springs anymore, but it will be obvious when you find it. You can also go to your Toyota dealer's parts department first to get the part, or just to look at it so you will know what it looks like. That should make finding it easier.
You can also refer to the Generation 4 Toyota technical service manual stickied at the top of this forum. It is available there for free downloading.
This really is an easy DIY repair.
