1998 200SX Brake problem

I just bought a 1998 200SX a month or so ago. It had a grind sound from the left front.
I checked the front pads for wear and they needed changing, the rotors were ok,so I bought some Brake Best Premium Semi Metallic from Oriellys.
Put them on and the same sound from the left front. Well I took my car to Shop I've used in the past and told him the padds are new and he said all he saw were that my rotors were getting thin. I have pulsating from my brakes at all. I went ahead and had him put on new rotors, still have same gring sound. You can't hear it, but feel it when you beake. About at the last 10 mph. I've thought of getting the pads at the Nissan dealership!!!
Also my tires, Walmarts Douglas tire, yeah cheapos, make alot of road noise
as I'm slowing down also. What gives with this?
I've thought about getting some Dayton tires or some BF Goodrich.
I've always heard that Daytons are softer rubber, by Mom and Dad both swear by them.

Can someone please offer some advice
