Re: Experience with TransX or Trans Tune

NO.....my transmission was working just fine.
I did notice that it improved the shifting....but as I did not have any real issue, it was not much of a change.
I had the transmission replaced at about 100K miles.....now at 172K miles.
I don't want to replace this one.
I was having the dealership change the fluid and filter every 30K miles.
I now do the job myself, with full synthetic fluid once a year.
Since Mobil 1 ATF, which used to be Mercon (what my '96 calls for), and it now is Mercon and Mercon V, which a FORD TSB states NOT to use......I plan to use Redline ATF, which is Mercon rated.

The thing that I have noticed......and you can see in my pictures.....is that there is a black "dust" over everything inside the transmission.
This is after 1 year, about 20K miles of use.
So, after reading about people having issues with solenoids.......I thought to myself....."What if this black dust is building up in the solenoids?".
So, I decided to try the AutoRX product......along with my Magnefine filter.
The magnefine filter should be replaced at no more than 10K miles of use.
The Factory style filter catches larger size particles.....but not the realy fine stuff.
I believe that the fine dust like material is from the frictional surfaces within the transmission......and are NORMAL.......I am just being anal about keeping things clean.
