Burned anti-freeze makes a thick hovering cloud of white smoke.

Another way you can get too much fuel other than injectors is sucking fuel through the vacuum hose connected to the fuel pressure regulator that has a leaking diaphram.

Charcoal cannisters can become filled with fuel and would cause a strong fuel smell under the hood. The fuel still has to pass by the rings to get into the oil.
