It appears the lower cushion is held in by a single bolt in the center above the floor hump. The seat back has 2-bolts on the bottom near the outside (one on each side). Once you get the shelf carpet out, you can cut your speaker holes if you wish. My advice would be to leave it alone so your visible speaker grills aren't a clue to theives that you have a nice system worth taking.

I agree. I have 4 6X9s in my 1991 Lumina but you can't tell from looking thru the back window.
