From what I know it has to be from the same year or newer. I have a 98 b18c1 in a 97 civic. Im thinking that the block would be the one that would have to be from the same or newer year since it has the vin # on it. Let me know if you have any more Q's. stefan525 ( Auburn, WA 98001)
