Do you have a manual transmission or an automatic? If you have an automatic, I suggest you look at the neutral safety switch to make sure it is still connected and whether it is still functioning. Try starting the car with the transmission in both Park and Neutral to make sure your linkage is not out of adjustment.

Whenever you have an automatic and the starter fails to function or make any noice when you turn the key, this is the first place you need to look. I have seen many a good starter replaced needlessly plus time and money wasted because this switch wasn't looked at first.
