Re: Rodeo Alt OEM New on Ebay:

what do you know about these alternators?

the implication is that they are NEW! actually, the e bay copy says:
"" BRAND NEW ISUZU RODEO / HONDA PASSPORT ALTERNATOR.
THIS IS A BRAND NEW O.E. HITACHI ALTERNATOR FOR 1996-1998 ISUZU RODEO AND 1996-1998 HONDA PASSPORT. 12 VOLT 70 AMP.FITS 3.2 ENGINES ""

BUT, everything about the photo says, to me, that it's a remanufactured unit, the texture of the metal ('sand'-blasted look), spray-painted, decal doesn't have the (r) registered mark after ISUZU, and it says manufactured in the U.S.A. does hitachi have a manufacturing plant in the u.s.?

plus, on the pictured item anyway, it looks like some label or decal had been removed, along with some of the paint.

i'm not necessarily anti-remanufactured, btw. i swear by remanufactured almost-anything by bosch. they've always been top quality in my experience.

anyway. ..

like to hear other opinions.

anybody have first-hand experience with this vendor?

thanks

bc
