I started the Jordan 191 shortly after the Ferrari 312T3; however, for the last 2 or 3 months I have been unable to work on it due to other commitments. I thought I would break with tradition and model Michael's first GP at Spa... like no one else has thought of that! :-)
Rather than waiting until its much further completed, I have decided to take a few photos and share with the forum the progress that I have made.
The two most interesting points are:
1) It took some trial and error but I eventually found what I consider to be the correct blue and green colours for this car. I have the Formula Perfect book and this shows many different shades of green. I worked on the premise, that as 7up were sponsors, it should be 7up green. For this I used Halford's Ford Modena Green Spray Paint. The blue is Tamiya's TS-44 Brilliant Blue. This was applied in 3 light coats over 2 coats of white primer and a single coat of gloss white (in much the same technique as described by SeanyG on his excellent Ferrari 310B thread).
2) I am using the Studio 27 decals. The instructions with the decals and in the Formula Perfect book get the nose cone decals wrong. If you look at the photos of the event, you will see that they are different. Apologies for pointing that out to those who haven't noticed this. I think the only reason I noticed it was because my mouse mat is a photo of this particular car.
I'm still working on the CF for the front wing and the CF tray that sits on top of the engine still needs work where the trumpets protrude; however, so far I am happy with the progress.
All the best,
